Using Minto

Trading and Jupiter

Every swap on Minto is routed through Jupiter, Solana's swap aggregator.

The trade flow

  1. Intent. The engine, you, or an Autonomous bot decides to buy or sell.
  2. Validation. The validator checks the intent against the bot's strategy, risk limits, wallet balance, SOL reserve, daily loss limit, max exposure and the kill switch. Rejections show up in your activity feed with the reason.
  3. Quote. Minto asks Jupiter for a quote with your slippage setting.
  4. Paper? In Paper mode, the fill is recorded at that real quote, fees included, and we stop here.
  5. Order and sign. For live trades Minto requests a Jupiter Ultra order, confirms it matches the validated intent (same tokens, same amount, same wallet, output not worse than your slippage floor) and sends it to the isolated signer.
  6. Execute. Jupiter Ultra lands the transaction and reports the result.
  7. Record. Trades, positions (FIFO cost basis) and fees are updated and pushed to your dashboard live.
Minto thinking
Idempotent by design
Every trade has an idempotency key. If something fails before a transaction is broadcast it can be retried; once it's broadcast it's never retried, so a hiccup can't double buy.

Routes

RouteWhenFee collection
Jupiter UltraDefault for live trades. Jupiter builds and lands the transaction (including gasless/RFQ routes when available).Separate SOL transfer right after the swap
Jupiter SwapMinto builds the transaction itself from Jupiter's swap instructions. In the same transaction

Paper trades always use real Jupiter quotes, so paper PnL behaves like the real thing (minus the stress).

Settings that matter

  • Slippage: separate for buys and sells, in basis points (100 bps = 1%). New launches usually need more.
  • Priority fee: low, medium, high or a custom lamport cap. Higher lands faster in busy blocks.
  • Retries: how many times to retry a failure that happened before broadcast.

Positions and PnL

  • Cost basis is FIFO per token, per wallet (or per bot for paper).
  • Costs include the platform fee and network fees.
  • Prices come from Jupiter and positions are re-marked every few seconds.
  • Manual sell buttons on every position: 25%, 50%, 100%.

Fees on trades

A 1% platform fee is charged on every swap Minto executes, buys and sells. On a buy it comes out of the SOL you spend; on a sell it comes out of the SOL you receive. It's shown on every quote, every proposal and in your trade history.

Charts and market data

The trade terminal draws its own candles. Price history comes from GeckoTerminal; for brand-new launches that aren't indexed yet, Minto builds candles from the live trade tape. Trades, holders and top traders come from Jupiter's live trade data.
